YTFG Fall Action Group Meeting

YTFG is holding the YTFG Action Group Meeting in conjunction with the Grantmakers for Education (GFE) Annual Conference in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico.  The YTFG Action Group Meeting is scheduled for October 15 & 16, 2007, at the Hyatt Tamaya Resort - with Juvenile Justice and Out-of-School Youth work group meetings on October 15th and the full-day Action Group Meeting on October 16th.

The Foster Care Work Group is still finalizing plans for having its meeting on Wednesday, October 17th, off site at the Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town in nearby Albuquerque.  Please be in touch with Barbara Langford directly at blangford@financeproject.org for the final decision and details.

Note the instructions on GFE's site regarding what the room block is under and how to make reservations. IMPORTANT: We are booking under GFE and not YTFG.

Please note that you are expected to make your own travel arrangements.  Also, GFE conference registration is separate and there is a fee to register for the GFE conference.  For information on the GFE conference, scheduled for October 17-19, go to www.edfunders.org directly.  YTFG cannot process registrations for the GFE conference.

The Hyatt Tamaya Resort is currently at capacity with no rooms left during the week of October 14th, from what we understand (-hence the previous emails about booking ASAP).

Here are a few alternatives:

The Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town, where the Foster Care Work Group meeting will be held, might be the ideal option for folks not able to book room at the Hyatt Tamaya Resort.  If we find that a critical mass of people are not able to find lodging at the Hyatt Tamaya Resort and expect to attend work group meetings on Monday, the Monday dinner, and the YTFG meeting on Tuesday, we will work to identify a shuttle service for those days. Click here for the Hotel Albuquerque's website>>.

There is a Holiday Inn Express in Bernalillo (about 1 mile away) and the hotel's number is 505-867-1600.  We were quoted a rate of $84.99.

There is also the Marriott Pyramid North in Albuquerque (about 25 miles away), and the number is 505-821-3333.  We were quoted rates between $169-189.

We do not have a block of rooms at either of these hotel, so this is for information purposes only.
